Nestled on the River Taw, halfway between Exeter and Barnstaple the hotel enjoys an exquisite setting amongst the rolling hills of the Tarka Trail. Furnished with a mixture of beautiful antiques and contemporary comfort the Fox & Hounds Hotel offers an idyllic setting for your special day. Our 16 bedrooms are all en-suite and the gorgeous bridal suite has a double bath big enough for two plus the champagne! We are licensed for civil weddings and partnerships in our charming function suite so you are able to enjoy the whole or just a part of your day with us. For weekday weddings you may even hire the hotel exclusively for you and your guests.

Civil Licensed
The beautiful garden and grounds create an idyllic setting for your wedding and our newly refurbished rooms, bar and restaurant creates a beautiful atmosphere for your guests to enjoy themselves. The Hotel is licenced for civil ceremonies, whereby arrangements can be made for the registar to come to the hotel on your wedding day and perform the ceremony as it would happen in a registry office, before moving on to the reception celebrations.

Restaurant and Catering
Our chefs will prepare a delicious feast in our light and airy restaurant after some fizz and nibbles on the terrace which overlooks our colourful gardens and the lovers’bridge –a definite photo opportunity.

Our restaurant with French windows onto the terrace and rear garden is able to accommodate up to 110 people for formal dining and buffet arrangements. A marquee can be hired for larger parties. For evening receptions we are able to accommodate for up to 250 guests.

Accommodation
Our bridal suite with fabulous bathroom is available for the happy couple and includes champagne, bathrobes and slippers. Breakfast can be delivered to you the next morning should you prefer.

Our other comfortable 15 rooms are en-suite and we also have one family room available.
