Description

Set in 80 acres of its own magnificent grounds and boasting England’s Highest Waterfall, Canonteign Estate with its sweeping driveway, magnificant formal landscaped gardens with fountains,waterfalls, ancient woodland, lakes, and outstanding views across Dartmoor National Park. This is truly one of the most romantic wedding venues in the region, with fabulous photographic opportunities.

Steeped in local history, and once home to Lord Exmouth, Canonteign House is one of the most romantic wedding venues in Devon and the perfect venue for intimate ceremonies or a grander affair.

Licensed for civil weddings, wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions the Estate can accommodate parties of 10 to 250+ and offers some of the most spectacular backdrops for your wedding day photographs.

The Fern Room can seat up to 60 guests for a civil wedding ceremony and overlooks the landscaped gardens and fountains. It is an idyllic setting for a champagne and canapes reception on the terrace and has spectacular views across private parkland and The Teign Valley. The Great Hall can accommodate 150 guests for a civil wedding ceremony and then is transformed into a fabulous dining hall for your evening reception for up to 120 guests. For larger numbers we have have a marquee lawn beside the house. Marquees can be interlinked with the house to provide extra room.

The Estate is also the perfect venue for an informal country wedding. Our covered barn will seat 75 guests, spilling out onto a pretty courtyard overlooking the lakes and national parkland. The barn can be extended to provide extra seating capacity and it is close to the Lily Lake which we can floodlight at night time creating a magical fee. We can offer a further marquee site also situated beside the Lily Lake.
