Description
The perfect location for a Caribbean honeymoon ...LEEWARD House may be an exotic honeymoon location on the beautiful Caribbean island of Nevis, but help with your arrangements is available right here in the UK in the West of England from a representative of the owners.
Designed plantation style, the large and roomy house is situated in beautiful gardens and has a collection of palms and one of the best views on the island across the strip of sea to the sister island of St Kitts.
The house is just a short walk away from the ruined Cottle Church, which is used for wedding blessing ceremonies when this is required. The church grounds are well kept and of special historic significance, the church having been built in 1824 by plantation owner Thomas Cottle for the use of his family and his workers.
A great place to relax
Sun-filled Leeward House provides a great place to relax throughout the entire year, having a large ocean view verandah and its own private pool overlooking the grazing grounds of the old Round Hill Estate. The garden is lovingly tended by gardener Chad Weekes.
The spacious great room and the other rooms throughout the house have vaulted ceilings. There are two large bedrooms and a study that together can accommodate up to five adults.
The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and a bathroom with a tub and hand-held shower. The guest bedroom has twin beds and a bathroom with a shower. The bedrooms and the study, which has a day bed, are all air-conditioned, as is the well-equipped kitchen.
Leeward House has a friendly and helpful staff and whatever your requirements assistance is just a ‘phone call away.
Around the island
Leeward House is quiet and private, yet there is gourmet dining just a couple of minutes away using the private footpath to the Mount Nevis Hotel, which is noted for its excellent cuisine. There is romantic dining for couples throughout the island and the kitchen has everything you need should you choose to prepare your own meal.
Just five minutes away by car is the famous Nisbet Beach, one of the best in the Caribbean, and in the opposite direction Oualie Beach, slightly more informal but extremely popular with families and offering fishing aboard the Sea Brat, diving, snorkelling and much more.
The people of Nevis are among the friendliest in the Caribbean, local history is fascinating and visitors cannot fail to be captivated by this very special island – the ‘Queen of the Caribees.’
Getting around
Leeward House is situated at the north end of the island of Nevis just ten minutes from the local airport at Newcastle and convenient for island hopping.
St Kitts is about two miles away across the sea between the islands and has an international airport that takes British Airways flights from London Gatwick. From St Kitts guests can cross on the ferry to Nevis or a private transfer can be arranged from the airport to the house.
Driving is on the left in Nevis and car hire can be arranged locally before your arrival.
Renting the house
The High Season rate (January to April and excluding the Christmas break) for honeymoon couples is £1,500 per week, a substantial reduction on the full price because of the reduced occupancy, and £1,000 per week Low Season.
