Something a little different?

If you are looking for a stylish, contemporary country wedding venue for your very special day, The Longhouse at Mill on the Brue in Bruton, is the place. It can comfortably seat 130+ guests and overlooks stunning views of the Brue valley. Of wood and glass, in muted colours, It has been designed and built to extremely exacting environmental standards winning The Green Apple award for environmental architecture.

The Longhouse at Mill on the Brue is on the south Somerset border 5 miles from both Dorset and Wiltshire.

We don't charge corkage, recommend two local catering companies and open up a cash bar in the evening.

Civil Ceremonies
We are licensed to have ceremonies in both the vaulted Wine cellar and The Longhouse. The wine cellar is situated under the adjoining Victorian farmhouse. It is able to seat a maximum of 55 guests and is perfect for a beautiful and intimate ceremony.

For larger wedding ceremonies The Longhouse is also licensed able to seat up to 140 guests.

Alternatively St Mary's in Bruton is our local church only 10 minutes walk away.

Wedding Reception
We are able to dine 130+ guests in the beautiful interior of The Longhouse looking out on to the Brue valley. The entire south side is effectively glass letting in light and creating the perfect backdrop to your wedding. The balcony doors fold away leaving a seamless transition between walking inside and out. The balcony is lit up a night by discrete lights giving guests another area to chat or seat out for some fresh air.

A number of seating plans can be arranged depending on your number of guests.

In the evening we've had many bands and disco's set up at the end of the Longhouse.

Additional services
We can provide B & B accommodation on site for a minimum cost and provide a list of recommended places to stay in Bruton and the vicinity. We also recommend makers of beautiful wedding dresses, quality proven caterers, artistic flower arrangers, photographers, honeymoon travel, hat hire, - even a string quartet and a speech writer!
